Hi Helen
Trafficswarm is a good start. There are also other manual and auto surf sites out there.
www.ts25.com , www.trafficpods.com and www.hitsafari.com are good
You can also try posting ads on 'work at home' message boards and forums. Try a google seach for 'work at home forum' or 'homeworking forum' You can post your ads for GDI and then return each week to post again.
If you know any friends that might be interested in GDI you can enter their email addresses into the autoresponder.
You can also hand out GDI business cards or make use of the GDI Red Ferrari Flyer: http://1.ws/flyer
The GDI training manual is also worth a read http://1.ws/training
I also promote GDI by placing ads on ebay. As ebay has millions of customers this is a great place to promote your GDI referral link.
If you have a little money to spend Ebay is also a good place to pick up some advertising bargains. Try searching ebay for 'banner impressions' , 'paid email' or 'advertising package'
PTR sites are also cheap for advertising. Try a google search for 'best ptr' and you should find a good selection of sites to promote on.
Last of all pay-per-click advertising works very well. It does cost money but you can start of with as little as $10. www.goclick.com is about the cheapest.
Remember, you just need people to watch the movie and GDI sells itself.
If you can aim to signup 5 people and then show them how its done your business should take off!
Hope this helps.
Cheers

I'd suggest you try to find some similar sites and ask the owners if they'd exchange links with you. That way you'll be found by anyone visiting those sites and inbound links help with your placement on Google.
Also, write some articles (if you can't write yourself, find somebody who can) about the subject your site covers, add your name and website URL at the end (this is called an author bio) and post it on "free article" sites for webmasters to pick up and post on their sites. Again, this gives you lots of inbound links (one way links are actually far better in Google's "eyes" than exchanged links) and if you write enough/spread them enough, you'll be seen as an expert in your field.
Make sure your website is properly search engine optimized. I can't stress how important this is if you want good placement on Google and the other major engines. Let's face it, if you're not on the first page of search results, not many are going to find you as very few go beyond the first page before trying other keyword combinations. To understand SEO, type in "search engine optimisation tips" in Google.
Hope this has been of some help to you.
